help finding a program to capture video webchat streams

Does anyone know of a program for Linux to capture video streams in webcam chat. The one I used in Microsoft Windows was called Hidownload and would capture and save RTMP and RTMPT streams as FLV formats. Anything like this exist for Ubuntu Linux? I have looked in the Ubuntu software center and also Synaptic Package manager. Any help would be appreciated.

So you want to capture the stream of the person you are chatting to?

Shows Xvidcap as allowing you to define recordable regions, simply recording the area of the webcam chat should do it.
