Please Note: The name of the system you are using is UBUNTU not Ubantu...

Well, if your motherboard can emulate USB drive as HardDrive then it should work.

Make sure the following conditions are met:

1. The USB flash drive is bootable (i.e., you used a special software to copy bootloader into USB drive)

2. Just go into BIOS settings, and make sure that:

2.1 In USB advanced settings you choose emulation level for USB as HardDrive

2.1 In Boot Options you make your emulated USB HardDrive upper than your real Hard Drive

the bios does recognize the flash drive on its list as one of the drives to boot from, and you can change the sequence of it with say the C drive, thing is I can't get the loaded ubuntu netbook os to boot from the flash drive as they say it can on their site. They offer no other solutions.

It sounds like you may not have saved the setting when you changed it in the BIOS. There are two options when you exit.
1) Exit without saving changes
2) Exit and save changes

You can trying pressing F12 when the computer boots. It will take you to the boot screen and you can choose if you want to boot from the hard drive or the USB. Select USB>

If this works, it means you exited without saving changes.
