want to use apt-get without Sudo

HI I am new in Ubuntu, so dont know much abt this language. Actually I want to install ASA on gns3 0.7 on this linux. I am taking help from this link as mentioned below.

Over here, they are using apt-get without sudo. but when i am trying to use same command then I am getting below error. Kindly

ashish@ashish-laptop:~$ apt-get install libncureses-dev zlib1g-dev libsdl-dev libpcap-dev

Not recommended, but in a Terminal input: sudo su

Sam,

arochester started with the right suggestion "Not recommended..." it really isn't - Ubuntu was designed around NOT requiring root.

IF you really do want a "root" shell however, arochester's suggestion is outdated. Using the command "sudo -i" would be more appropriate and should setup the environment variables better.
