Win 98 to Xubuntu?

Any problems installling Xubuntu over Win 98 on a dell inspiron 7000 laptop?

You can install Xubuntu over Windows (delete it totally) or next to it (If you do so, you will be asked at bootup if you want to use Xubuntu ou windows)

You should use Xubuntu LiveCD. It allows you to boot on the cd an run Xubuntu without modifying your data or your hard disk. You will be able to check if your hardware is well recognized. If there is any problems, just ask :-) If everything is OK, just click 'install' and follow the installaton steps !
