Authentication failure

Hello
I used Ubuntu Windows installer Wubi to download and install LTS 10.04. But at the end to enter Ubuntu for the 1st time ever I'm asked a password (the user name printed is the one I entered at the start of install) so I entered the one I created at the beginning of install. I get "Authentication failure"

Reboot to recovery root console and run:

passwd foo

replace foo with your username. Eg:

passwd andy

Then reboot and login with the new password
