Reboot failure after upgrade to 10.04 from 9.10

Asked by VATipnis

Upgrade from kubuntu 9.10 to 10.04 went quite well until restart. After restart i get the following message, then continues on to the login screen, but the keyboard and mouse drivers are clearly not loaded. Can't proceed except with a cold restart.

mount: mounting none on /dev failed: No such device
init: ureadahead main process (296) terminated with status 5

BTW, grub is working fine and can get me to my WIndows partition and boot record successfully.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks for the suggested commands; they showed me I had corrupted partitions. Deleted them and reinstalled Kubuntu 10.04. I'm up and running.
