optimus mode supported (nouveau) - xxodd - xni5100

Asked by Remke

Hello to all :)

I'm going to get myself a new laptop (still using an Dell Inspiron 6000).
I have found an A-quality brand: xxodd which you can get without MsWindow$

http://www.xxodd.nl/index.php?p=artikel&ID=490&e=1
(http://www.clevo.com.tw/en/products/item.asp?procatalogID=7)

Inside: GeForce GT330M + Intel
... but : This laptop uses the new Nvidia Optimus mode/technology. [???]
Found the driver: http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux-display-ia32-256.44-driver.html
(http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=163683)

I really would like to know if Ubuntu 10.04 will work with this laptop.
I read some bugs about blank screen during installation etc ...

Does anyone have more info ?
This laptop/brand is not yet on the page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RecommendedHardware#Laptops

The Xxodd 760C works with Ubuntu (Intel HM55)

With kind regards,
Remke
