installing a Linksys WAG200g router for Ubuntu

Asked by Faiza

i am currently using a Linksys WAG200G router for a local LAN in my office. However when i switched to ubuntu, it does not connect to the network nor does it even catch the wifi connections. can someone please guide me as to how i can install the router on ubuntu? i'd greatly appreciate it.

NOTE: i tried the linksys technical support however they said that they do not support ubuntu configurations

Thanks :)

I believe the problem is not in the router, but in the way you are trying to connect to it. Are you using Ethernet, or Wi-Fi for this?

Are you able to see the name (ESSID) from your Ubuntu computer? Have you tried plugging yourself in directly to the router to see if you can access it via http://192.168.1.1 ?
