BCM4318 does not work but is listed

Asked by toucher5

I have a Dell Inspiron 2200 with Ubuntu 7.04 installed and it has a Broadcom BCM4318 integrated wireless nic card. It is recognized as being in the system however it does not see any networks. I also have a Broadcom ethernet nic which works. How do I fix this?

Thanks -

Josh

hi toucher5
if the default bcm43xx kernel module doesn't work with your card, you can try to use ndiswrapper instead of bcm43xx, here is one of many links with a step by step guide on how to do this:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=190177

hope this helps.
