Install software from external hard drive

Asked by Energizor

Hi,

I am interested in trying Ubuntu 10.04.

My understanding is that APTonCD can copy all installed software. Can it also copy software not yet installed? Can APTonCD save these programs to an external hard drive instead of a CD or DVD?

I plan on saving a copy of all installed and not installed programs on an external hard drive. I'll use the external hard drive to reinstall programs in the event I need to reformat Ubuntu. Can this be done this way?

Thanks!

Instead of using aptoncd, smiply copy the debs from /var/cache/apt/archives

You can then install them on a system without a connection

Can you help with this problem?
