ubuntu 10 is in my asus computer is not going beyond the startup ubuntu logo please help me !

i cannot logon to ubuntu 10 in my asus laptop. i installed ubuntu side by side and when i choosed to log in to ubuntu only ubuntu logo appeares with running dots. once all the dots get red it is stuck in there without going any further. i wait for an hour but the screen is same. please help me.....!

When the dot screen loads, press ESC and you can watch the boot.

Please press any key at boot before you see the ubuntu logo with running dots then please select a previous kernel number if there are any and try to boot with that kernel...
