installing ubuntu logged in then asked to use sudo command

Asked by Greg Allman

I was installing Ubuntu 6.06.2 server I was asked to log in I did that. Now it says To run a command as administrator (user "root"), use sudo <command> then it says myname@ubuntumyname: ~$_. I can't figure out from "man sudo_root" which command to continue with the installation.
