virtualbox dont recognise usb

Asked by Jeff Woodward

when i boot onto my flash drive i get a menu saying stuff like run ubuntu from this usb flash drive install ubuntu memory test advanced and boot from first hard disk
when i select run ubuntu from usb and hit enter it seems to just reload the menu
when u select install it does the same thing
when i do memory test it works
when i do advanced it brings me to a new menu but the only option is "back"
when i do boot from hard disk it reloads the menu
when i put it on the flash drive with universal usb i got errors when it extracted
when i run it from sun virtualbox it gives me an error while adding the iso as a boot device
i tried downloading the torrent version
and when i ran it in virtual box it asked for a language i selected english and hit enter it asked to install ubuntu i hit enter and it brought up the command line thingy (black screen with white underscore blinking) and nothing happened(i also could not type into it)
when i ran it from a flash drive i go the same results as the previous download
i am trying to use ubuntu desktop

The MD5 makes a checksum to verify that contents of CD or USB key is what expected.
Sometimes, there are copy error from a Web site to the ultimate physical support.

I have some difficulties to understand your post. What do you want to do ?

Then use the torrent. the file you downloaded not using torrents has been damaged in transmission and is worthless.

I have difficulties to understand your problem.
Can you try to install under VirtualBox, and then take a picture (via a screen copy or with a camera) of when it fails.
And then send it by e-mail to this address:
    <email address hidden>
I suspect you misunderstood something in installation process.
