Boy, this seems to be the theme of the day. Depending on the choices you made during install you "may" have a dual boot or you "may" have overwritten windows. In order to diagnose the current setup we need a bit more info. I don't use kubuntu so I'm not 100% sure how to launch a terminal but you'll have to look for it in the menus. There should be an option that says something about "terminal". Run it and then in the terminal window type

sudo fdisk -l

That last letter is a small letter L. Copy and paste the output here. Mine looks like this...

Disk /dev/sda: 250.0 GB, 250059350016 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 30401 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

   Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 8093 65000000 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/sda2 8094 27538 156191962+ 83 Linux
/dev/sda3 27539 30152 20996955 83 Linux
/dev/sda4 30153 30401 2000092+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris

Notice the entry sda1 line that says NTFS. That is my windows install. If you see a similar line then windows should still be there. If you don't see that line then it's likely that you one way or another overwrote windows. Anyway, post the output here and we can go from there.

Check the below thread for a similar situation. It may provide you with some extra info.
