Ubuntu

My computer types the 5 key on its own.

When I type it looks like this. t5h5555i555s555555555555555555555 and I have to backspace it all I never press the five key at all it does it on its own. It only happens the first 10-20 minutes I use the computer then stops later but it does it every time. What can I do to make it stop?

You have only Ubuntu on the computer? Or another system (Windows XP / Vista / 7)? If you do, do you have the same problem on this other system?

If you have the same problem on both system, your keyboard has probably a problem and should be changed or cleaned.
If you don't have Windows on this computer, here is what you can try to make sure it's an hardware problem:
use a LiveCD or liveUSB Ubuntu to start the computer. Then check if you have the same problem. If you do, you know it's not software but hardware.

have you tested with alive cd??
does the same problem persist????
