Would i be able to install xubuntu on my laptop successfully with a disk after formatting the hard drive? If so, what would I need to do?

Asked by Garrett Cairo

I have a laptop that is currently running Windows XP and it has a lot of clutter, so I would like to format the hard drive and install Xubuntu from there using a disk. What would I have to download and burn onto a disk to be able to do this? Or is this even possible? the laptop has 1gb of RAM and either a .99ghz processor or a 1.59ghz processor.

Hi mate :-D. In answer to your question about xubuntu yes you can install it on your laptop.
What you will need to download and burn onto a disc is all on the xubuntu website...

http://www.xubuntu.org/getubuntu

From there you can download the 10.04 version of xubuntu and burn it to a disk then reboot your computer to install
Hope this helps :-D
