Is there a place where I can download something that I can run to test my hard drive and so on?

I have some older PCs I would like to find out what parts are
not working. Can I down load to cd and run a check up on
the old ones

Testing drive tools can be found on the ultimate boot cd. It also has a ram tester which is the same tester as the one on the ubuntu live cd

Many hard disk manufacturers also have created disk check utility, so based on what you have on your PC, you can search for this kind of utility.

oocevin, instead of asking "how do I get this" you could have websearched yourself and instantly found what you needed. If you do this sort of thing then your experience of your system will move a LOT quicker. You had to wait 3 days for Cristi to give a reply and you could have found it on the same day as my reply.
