Your computer (A) and (B)
What are the ip of A and B ( get it from terminal with ifconfig -a )
Are they connected on a lan by a lan cable connected to an Hub...?
Can you ping B from A and A to B...?
If so...
Are Samba service started... on both pc...?
Are there any configurated firewall script...on both A and B pc...?
Have you added user on Samba...?
Please post here your /etc/samba/smb.conf
