To request features in the screensavers, you are probably best reporting a "wishlist" bug against the package, using the following link:-

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-screensaver/+bugs

I don't actually know what freepats is, however there is a page all about mounting a windows partition under Ubuntu:-

dear Alan,
I'm afraid that it did not work,I have freepats(a collection of sound patch files, that is used by Timidity synthesiser) on a USB drive that is already mounted, and I still am asked for permisions,e-timidity includes freepats with the package, the existing freepats is VERY limited, only around 23Mb,whereas the one that I have built up over the years is complete, and almost perfect.and about 450Mb.
Regarding the screensaver,I will certqainly follow your instructions, thank you for your prompt reply,Sid
