I'm using Ubuntu 10.4 64 bit. FireFox is my default browser, ThunderBird is my default email. I need to get where when I click a URL in thunderbird to have Firebird get the focus so it pops up over thunderbird on it's own

Asked by oocevin

I had Kubuntu 10.4 installed but I installed Ubuntu 10.4.
In Kubuntu I would go to control panel and click on
windows behavior and click windows behavior inside
there. And on the right I would open a drop down window
a click none then apply. That would do it.

But How to do that in Ubuntu 10.4

Hi,

You would open System > Preferences > Preferred applications and then, for the web define Firefox as the default browser

Hope that helps

Theres a script there you can modify. It uses wmctrl to bring the firefox instance forward and open the link. You'll need to change the WINTITLE and PROGNAME variables but should be fine, It shows how wmctrl to bring a window forward.

You will need to use it in conjunction with this to set the script to be executed when you click a link.
