Did you MD5 test the file you downloaded?

You should instead boot with your pen drive ie restart your computer with the pen drive inserted and then follow on screen instructions to install ubuntu ... One thing more you should boot your computer with the usb drive ie you may want to enter in the boot menu in your computer typically this is done by pressing the F10 key on the first screen that appears on computer start ..there you have to select USB drive ..

Where you download it from doesn't matter at all. If the md5 matches then you know the data is correct, consistant and complete:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM

You have used unchecked data so you have no idea if it is error free or complete at all. Get it checked and we can continue. If the data has errors then this is the source of your issues. Bad files will make bad installs.
