Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs .

Cindy Noren, it was probably just some webpage with false virus warnings. Don't panic. Ubuntu is based on Linux and Linux has not known viruses affecting it.

Cindy, don't worry. I promise you you do not have a virus. It is a website just advertising to get you to click on advertisements. Ubuntu is based on linux and because of the way linux has file system level security you do not need to worry about viruses. You could pass a virus on to a windows user if one was attached to an email but the virus would never never affect your system. You are safe.

How is that for some good news.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
