I just burned and ran Puppy buntu, how to install it so to be the desk top OS

Asked by oocevin

Does any body know how to install Puppy to make it make
it my operating system. I can run it as a live cd.
But I want to install it all the way so I do not have to use
the cd all of the time.

I have Lubuntu installed.

But I need a lighter OS.

If you do not like it do you
have one for me to install?

I'm open. I'm having a little
problem installing Puppy.

I will be able to just have
try and try again.

It's a older PC, barely enough RAM.

That is why I wish 4 a lighter one.

I doing this for my older son. I need
to save some cash so I can upgrade
it.

So please, tell me a better lightest buntu.

Thank You

I'm reinstalling Lubuntu so I can wipe out Puppy at this
time. Once done I will go into BIOS to find the
processors info.

OK

Thank You.

Can I install this so it will boot just like Ubuntu and Kubuntu
without the cd being in the CD ROM.

Or do I have to use the CD to boot in all the time.

Thank You

Damn Small is small enough and smart enough to do the following things:

    * Boot from a business card CD as a live linux distribution (LiveCD)
    * Boot from a USB pen drive
    * Boot from within a host operating system (that's right, it can run *inside* Windows)
    * Run very nicely from an IDE Compact Flash drive via a method we call "frugal install"
    * Transform into a Debian OS with a traditional hard drive install
    * Run light enough to power a 486DX with 16MB of Ram
    * Run fully in RAM with as little as 128MB (you will be amazed at how fast your computer can be!)
    * Modularly grow -- DSL is highly extendable without the need to customiz

I'm having the cd work now.
Have not got to the part to
install. There is a window
showing how to do things.

My mouse is not working yet
but the arrows will make the
window move up and down.

Also on the left of the window
it keeps on displaying some thing
that I can not explain. Like it still
loading or some thing that.

Is that norm..

Thanks
