installation

I am using window 7 in my HP dv6 laptop in ntfs system..
i am new in ubuntu 10, and want to use it as dual boot option in my laptop with windows 7. I have bootable disk of linux OS and want to know about the installation like file system of partition, driver for OS (as drivers are not available on HP website).

The list of laptops tested with the Ubuntu 10.04 could be found here https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/Laptop/Lucid/Reports - you can look for your model or similar and see if it has any problems with its hardware or needs some custom workarounds
