epson cx9400fax scanner can not start in Wine or Ubuntu 10.04

I can print but can not scan documents. I have loaded xsane and sane. I would like to use either Wine or directly from Ubuntu 10.04. Are there any drivers specifically for this printer?

Can yuo give the output of:

lsusb

You will not be able to scan using wine.
