Can't install OS Error

Asked by Raymond Alfonso

When I install Ubuntu from my flashdrive I get an error at 66%. It says to slow down burn speed and to clean disk. How do I fix this problem? I really need to install this OS and fix my computer. I also already downloaded ubuntu again and formated the flashdrive but it doesn't seem to work.

it is not a question of "following instructions" ...
are you in dual boot, are you in oem, have you clean and defrag your disk before, and have you used the right tools like for windows : defrag and glaries (fastt and secure)?
so all is clean and nothing in your computer is full (ram, swap or temporary files...)

on your usb / key after you have followed instructions you must be sure that your machine support your o.s, if not (lucid linx had few difficulties few months ago, i do not know if today all bugs are solved), try install MINT - it is like ubuntu but better supported.Or ubuntu 9.1 or ubuntu 9.O4

to slow burn ? are you in usb to your disk for an install; or with a cd that you have burnt and you install ubuntu from this one ?

on your usb it is only : install (on the desktop).
is one of your soft is open - when you install ?

if you cannot from an usb, you could burn the iso file to a cd and then install from this one or
COMMAND one free : make a request at ubuntu.org (shipit ) to obtain a free cd/dvd, it will come from post after few weeks.

i do not know if it is answering at your question.

Please check:
1) the md5sum of downloaded iso image
2) perform a ram test of your pc from boot menu of Ubuntu install live cd (mem stick) press shift when Ubuntu live install boot you will see the menu item to do it
3) Check still using the menu at point 2 the cd for defect (never done on a memory stick but i suppose it works)

Try to install

if this doesn't solve try to reset your pc bios at default values

and try again.
