Dual boot with XP Home on a 3ware Escalade 7000 series hardware RAID 0

Asked by Chris

I want to install a dual-boot on the previously mentioned RAID set, of 2 80 GB PATA drives. The 3ware site says that the 2.6.x kernel has support for the card, so will there be any tweaking needed, or will the installer be able to recognize it right away?

You can test this with the live cd. This will boot and run off the CD without touching the hard disk. Once booted to the live cd you can open a terminal (Applications --> Accessories --> Terminal) and run the following command:-

sudo fdisk -l

(that is a letter L for Lima on the end) it will list all partitions that Ubuntu can see.
