Trying to install to a PC on a TV

I am trying to install Ubuntu for the first time on a Desktop PC (using a CD) that is connected via S-Video to a TV. Unfortunately, nothing is displayed past the initial boot up (black screen). I have looked long and hard for a similar issue, but none have presented themselves that would work for me. Little help.

Why don't you connect a monitor temporarily, once you install Ubuntu and set up the S-Video output correctly, you can disconnect the monitor.

Then reconnect later after disconnecting it.
