CD will not install OS after menu opens

CD to install 10.04LTS on 40GB NTFS partition with XP sp3 OS in another 40BG partion. Green window lists languages after ENTER. English picked and ENTER brings up 5 option window. Tried alternative boots with no luck. Motherboard-intel D975XBX2 and Processor is dual core x86 Family 6 model15 stepping13(E2200) and 4MB memory.

Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?
DId you check the disk for defects once booted to?

MD5 tested OK. Not able to do anything after boot started but set language.
