ubuntu doesnt work

i installed ubuntu on my machine via the wubi.exe file. when i boot up i have an OS choice, vista or ubuntu. When I choose ubuntu I see a purple loading screen with 5 dots below it, and once it finishes loading, the screen goes black. wtf

It's a minor known bug, there is the work around. Ubuntu does work and does for Millions of users.

i reinstalled with wubi, but had to go into vga safe mode to finish the install. after that I just installed the drivers, but my card is ATI, not nvidia, so im not sure why it was happening, but thanks for the help actionparsnip
