computer crashes whats the least amount of ram it needs

i was using about 370 gb of ram on a gateway e 2000 is that to little amount of ram because the computer crashes after about an hour on line

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type:

df -h

and

sudo fdisk -l

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

i have an older pc running 384 gb of ram started with 9.04 am now up to 10.04 and it works , the down is i can not use any advance effects or no ati/ nvidia drives installed . it surf s the web and plays simple games .
