Is there a version of Malware bytes (anti-malware) for ubuntu?

Asked by titagula

For many things (like limewire for example) there are versions that are made for a mac or windows, but there is a version for ubuntu as well that you can download, or there are things on the ubuntu computer (like Rhythmbox music player) that you can use (instead of itunes for example) My question is, is there a version of Malware bytes (anti-malware) for ubuntu?( Or is there a possible equivalent thing that is exactly like it, with a different name)

Go here, it has every thing you might be looking for:

http://theindexer.wordpress.com/2010/03/21/to-do-list-after-installing-ubuntu-10-04-aka-lucid-lynx/

Do not install their java though. If you nee to install java:

 sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-fonts

This should help.

That page has some anti-virus in there to..

ClamAV is a good one. Alternatively you can upload suspicious files to various antivirus websites, and it will tell if its being infected or not.
