COn un procesador AMD Athlon II Dual Core M300 2GHz
3GB DDR2 RAM

Hay alguna manera de instalar Ubuntu en este equipo?

Según veo tu procesador podría soportar 64bit. Igualmente le puedes instalar 32bit.
