system log viewer: cannot hide the calendar

Asked by Manni

I'm trying to hide the calendar in the System Log Viewer. The help system simply states that I should uncheck "View -> calendar", but the options is grayed out.

Not being able to hide the calendar is not a big deal. But grayed out menu items drive me nuts when I don't know why they are disabled and when the help system doesn't mention any possible reasons.

Hello Manni,

It seems this option is grayed out if /var/log is selected. Select any logs it contains, and you will be able to turn off the calendar. Strange, I agree, but it works for me

Can you help with this problem?
