Try using the bootoption:
i8024 reset
Usually fixes these things. Run:
gksudo gedit /etc/default/grub
find this line:
GRUB_CMDLINE_
and change it to
GRUB_CMDLINE_
Save the new file, close gedit then run:
sudo update-grub
Then reboot.

no bro my touch pad is still not working bro when i open the touchpad option in system then preference then i click on touch pad there is an error displayed it says
GSynaptics couldn't initialize.
You have to set 'SHMConfig' 'true' in xorg.conf or XF86Config to use GSynaptics
i also tried what is given in the earlier answer but no results what should i do now

and maybe even
i8024.nomux=1
or various combinations of all.
