Can not delete photos downloaded off of a CD.

Asked by D MacLellan

I downloaded a CD with over 100 photos. I have no problem deleting other photos but if I try to delete this folder I'm told it can't be moved to trash and when I click details it says "permission denied". At one point I was able to get it into the trash and when I tried deleting from there, each individual photo file would come up and it would say there was an error and if I clicked on details it said "permission denied". I restored it back to my pictures file and now I have it both there and in the trash and unable to delete it from either.

Right-click the folder and check the Permissions tab.

Please use temporary nautilus as root user to delete the photos... so on a clean desktop with no opened windows type:

alt + f2 a new center dialog window will come in front of you and into just opened window type:

gksudo nautilus

Try to delete your undesired photo...

Or change the owner of your photo directory contents... so you will can deleted them using nautilus using your user.

Also please copy and paste the content of your /etc/fstab file here...

Thank you
