Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on Virtual PC 2007

Asked by Reginald W. Taylor

Hi Guys,
OK i am trying to install Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on my windows virtual PC 2007. I get this error message: An unrecoverable processor has been encounter, The virtual machine will restart.

I also have have 9.04 running on windows virtual PC and resolved the same problem by using F4 during the boot process to using low graphic and adding noreplace-paravirt at the the boot sequence on F6

Do anyone know How I can edit the graphical settings in 10.04 to have it to boot so I can install because it's no longer found under F4 as it was in version 9.04 of Ubuntu. ?

Thanks

Reggie

When the system start to boot from cd you will see two bottom screen icons (keyboard and man inside circle ) please press space (choose your desired language) then a screen textual center menu will appear and to the bottom right you will see the usual old F6 option

When the CD shows the grey screen with stick man, press space and you will see the standard cd boot screen. Make sure you have MD5 tested the ISO or you may get issues. (Many Windows users are ignorant of MD5 testing despite it being huely important).

OK Guys,
Thanks for all the help and suggestions given me. I finally solved the problem. Like I said it was a Graphic problem. I set the VGA mode to 700 and got the options to the VGA mode list. I selected the best one and it works great.

Thanks everyone.
