Battery drains quickly on Asus EEE PC 900

I bought an Asus EEE PC 900 on ebay. I immediately installed a fresh copy of Ubuntu 10.4 Netbook. The battery drained within 30 min - 1 hour. Since I bought it on ebay I just figured it was an old battery. I bought a brand new battery and have the same problem. What's going on?!

Seems to be a common thing. I'd submit a bug.

I have exactly the same issue with my Packard Bell netbook even though Windows 7 (dual boot) does not show the same problem.

Can you help with this problem?
