How to Install Ubuntu on Acer Aspire 4520 ?

I have got Acer Aspire 4520 with comes preloaded with Linus version , I want to install the Ubuntu Edition as its far better .
Laptops specification is :

AMD 64 X2 Processor Athlon TK53 (1.7GHz, 2 x 256KB Cache)
* 1024MB DDR2 533MHz Memory (1GB RAM)
* 160GB Hard Disk Drive (5400RPM)
* 8X DVD WRITER DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive (Also Writes 8.5 GB DVDs)
* 14.1" WXGA TFT LCD High brightness (200 nits), 1280 x 800 resolution with 16ms response time
* Integrated Bluetooth 2.0+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) Bluetooth Inbuilt
* Gigabit LAN (10/100/1000 Compatible)
* 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
* Integrated 802.11 b/g Wireless LAN (WIFI)
* 56K Fax Modem, 4 USB 2.0 Ports
* Integrated 5-in-1 Card Reader & S-Video TV Out,Consumer IR Port
* Nvidia GeForce 7000M GS Upto 1GB of TurboCache

Kindly Guide from where could i get the sound and graphics driver to get all the 3D effects of Ubuntu's GUI .

You will probably want to download the amd64 or i386 Feisty .iso from http://www.ubuntu.com . Burn it to a CD by following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BurningIsoHowto . Boot from the CD.

Hi Sandeep,
I have the same notebook (good prices from acer) and managed to get Ubuntu 7.04 up and running. Its been a long story. But suggest the following

1. Use 32 bit OS as the application support is better and 64 bit drivers are still very flaky.
2. I still have some instability problems though all the devices (but for wlan, which i have not setup yet) work very well.
3. USe the Nvidia proprietary driver for video and use envy (script) to do the actual installation
4. Download the latest alsa source (driver, lib and utils) setup mercurial (hg compilation) and follow the instructions to compile and install.
5. The camera, blue tooth and the 802.11 work out of box (detection). you will have to tweak the drivers to get them to work. The wlan apparently works best with the windows driver (XP) and ndiswrapper.
The current instability is probably due to the sata implementation or some PCI implementation snafu. Should get fixed soon. BTW goto the BIOS and choose IDE mode for the sata, the machine will not even boot properly otherwise.
This is the first time i am using ubuntu (being a long time redhat and then fedora guy). The debian stuff is quite good for autodetect and stuff so i recommend you stick to ubuntu or some debian variant.
I have tried with 7.04-64, 7.04-32 AND 7.10-32. i find the 7.04-32 version the best of the lot (though it crashes unpredictably once in a while).
