Can't install Ubuntu 10.04

Asked by Kevin

Hi,

I just downloaded the ISO-File of Ubuntu 10.04 and burned the image on a CD.
Then I put it into my laptop and booted from it. After a few seconds the ubuntu screen with these 5 white/red points appeared. This screen stayed about 5 minutes and then turned into black.

What could I do? Please help me!

Else your ISO image is wrong, else Ubuntu has a problem with your graphic card.
Press "ESC" key when the screen with 5 points appear, to catch error messages.
You can also take a photo with a digital camera or error messages.

Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?
Did you check the CD for defects once initially booted to?
