mouse n keyboard do not function after upgrade to ubuntu 9.10 and 10.4

before this i used 9.04 and it work just fine, but when i upgrade to 9.10 the mouse and keyboard won't respon after a few second i logged in. So i delete the previous vrsion and install 10.04 and the problem still happens.. it also happens in cd live.. i am new in ubuntu world and i hardly know to use terminal.

here my pc spec:
core2duo E4500
3072 RAM DDR2
intel GMA 950 graphics
HP pavillion a6350d

It sounds as if your disk is corrupted from what you say. Generally upgrades to new versions such as 9.04 to 9.10 to 10.04 require that the previous version be okay. The problem with a keyboard and mouse disappearing could be the system board is going bad--particularly if you're not getting them with the live CD. (from memory you're accessing system resources like the keyboard and mouse).

It might be worth simply buying a new hard disk drive and then doing a complete install of 10.04 on that. If that fails also, then the system board is probably you trouble point.
