I have vista and don't get ubuntu when i reboot computer with disk in computer

Asked by Dizo

I have vista on my computer. my computer is new and came with vista as it's main OS. I dowloaded ubuntu and then moved it to a cd and tried to boot the computer with the cd in the computer but it never booted as ubuntu, it just stayed with vista. But when the computer already is running and i put in the ubuntu cd i get the ubuntu thing with the firefox things and blender and cliam [sp] wind antivirus.
So then i ordered the free cds and just got them. But the same thing happens dosen't boot as ubuntu, it stays as vista and when my computer is running and i put it in i get that thing with firefox and blender.

If you have any ideas to help me plz tell me. I'll try everything

You will have to change the Boot order in your Bios. When your computer is booting press F2 right away (before you get the windows loading screen). That will get you in your Bios.

In there, try to find the Boot option (it can differ from one computer to another) and make your CD/DVD drive be the first.

This way, when you boot your com, puter, the bios will check on the CD drive if there is an OS available out there. If not, it will go on and check on your HD...
