How to hear what i have recorded using sound recorder in Ubuntu

When I try to record using sound recorder, it seems like is recording when push the record button, but when I try to play what I have just recorded, I don't hear anything. I am using Ubuntu 10.04

Hello,

Record any sound or voice and save the file to the desktop. Click on the file and you should hear the recording.

Make sure you check the sound recorder settings first by going to File/Open Volume Control. Choose the input you are using and that nothing is muted and all should work OK.

I tried that ahambidge and it didn't work. Any other suggestion?
