Codec + Mixer: IDT 92HD75B2X5 - STAC92xx Analog [STAC92xx Analog] Audio device [0403]: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) [1002:4383] - sound works via speakers but not via headphones on Compaq CQ61-410US Presario in Ubuntu 10.04 - using ALSA driver 1.0.23 and model=hp-m4

I have a brand new Compaq CQ61-410US Presario. Just installed 10.04 and had no audio in the headphone jack on the front of the machine. Speakers work fine. Upgraded to Alsa 1.0.23, and the problem persists. Also, the mic jack seems dead. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

um... *blush* Apparently, the sound system now works perfectly fine. I am not sure exactly what I did, but it is quite happy now. The mic and the headphones both work well.
