mac trackpad

Asked by Chris

I am currently dual booting Lucid with my Macbook Pro. Everything works great except for the trackpad. The newer macs do not have a physical button and I do not believe the current driver accounts for this. One of the main issues is moving items around. If I click on a folder for example and hold (with one finger) I will not be able to move it around with my other finger. It will behave as if I double clicked on it. I have even disabled the (touch touchpad for click). The three finger or four finger gestures don't do anything, however that is not a concern.

Is there any other interface for the synaptic driver that could account for this? I have tried gpointing device with no luck.

you could maybe "right click" the top of the window and select move

Thats some really retarded design by Apple. How do you do it under MacOS except for "with great difficulty"

thanks for the advice. I can move this way or with using one finger and holding. Problem with this approach is each time I get to the end of the trackpad I have to release do it again. I know this may not seem like that big of an issue, however it gets really annoying. It is difficult to describe the inconsistencies of using the mac touchpad on ubuntu. I guess the best thing to do would be use a mouse.

Its Apple inventing to look "smart" when in fct they are "retarded" and I personally boycot each and every one of their products. I guess your "innovative" hardware is biting you in the ass. I'd just use a regular mouse to make life easier.

Sounds like someone is playing a joke on you.

Can you help with this problem?
