ubuntu 10.04 LTS won't install to hard drive from USB

Asked by Gabriel Black

My toshiba mini is able to run ubuntu 10.04 LTS successfully from USB drive but if I attempt to install ubuntu on the hard drive (from the USB drive), the installation process starts normally but freezes after step 3 when I select keyboard type - irrespective of my keyboard selection. Ultimately I just want to run ubuntu from the hard drive as the sole operating system. Any suggestions?

Hello,

There could be a problem with the USB Download. Try to reinstall the USB Ubuntu and try again.

Also, what was on the hard drive before trying to install Ubuntu? This could be stopping the installation.

Regards,

Allan :)
