Please Help !

Hi Friends !
I am a Windows OS User from last two years !
Now i want to work on Linux. I need help now. I am currently using Windows XP Home Edition with SP-2 Integrated July 2007 and dual booting with Windows Vista Home Premium.
I want to use "Ubuntu" distribution of Linux ! Am i capable of installing it ! My system configuration is :-
Intel Pentium 4 with HT Technology, 2 MB L2 Cache, Intel 915 Chipset with AGP, 512 MB DDR1 RAM, 80 GB SATA Hard Drive, LG DVD-RW.
Am i ?
What is live CD Version !
How i will install Ubuntu and shall i have to lose my current Windows OS ?
Please Help Me !
If you can post a .pdf or .doc file regarding installation, it would be very nice. You can upload it on rapidshare !

Normally your computer is good enough to use Ubuntu without any troubles.
