Problem booting with 2.6.32-22 Kernel

Asked by Michael Alianza

I just upgraded my Karmic Koala to Lucid Lynx last night. While doing the restart required for the installation, I selected 2.6.32-22 for the boot. Though while booting, the screen flashed green and the the computer stopped booting, leaving me with a black screen with no response from the hard drive. I restarted again and booted on 2.6.31-22, it works but I want to know why does the higher version of kernel isn't working.

My Platform is:

Fujistu p51 lifebook
512 RAM
900 mHz (centrino)

Already a dual boot with windows XP while at Karmic Koala

Do you see any error messages when you deactivate "quiet" from kernel options and switch to the console during the boot?

How do you deactivate quite?

The only thing I see when I boot from 2.6.32-22 is a blank black screen. Though in 2.6.31-22 I see an error message. The last line says:

chroot: cannot execute/etc/aparmor/initransfs: no such directory

Boot to the good kernel and use this guide:
http://georgia.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8456613

But instead of deleting the apparmour folders, simply rename them. This gives you a rollback path (smart)

Can you help with this problem?
