Removing windows fonts completely!

Asked by Chethan S.

I initially installed Ubuntu 9.10 and recently upgraded it to Ubuntu 10.04. When I was using karmic I had created a folder .fonts in my /home folder and copied and pasted all my windows fonts. Now I don't need them but I can't find any in that folder. However they are available everywhere like OpenOffice.org applications. This has resulted in Impress taking Arial as default font. I really don't like it and cannot go on making changes everywhere in a presentation.

Therefore, I need a solution which enables me to remove all windows fonts and take all the font settings to defaults in Ubuntu 10.04 as in case of a fresh install.

Thanks in advance!

I hope you upgraded to Karmic in between (9.10). As this must be done to get a good uprade ;)

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Fonts

Is the font install guide. I believe ~/.fonts is where they are to be copied to but I am unsure if they THEN get copied into the OS at large.

Can you help with this problem?
