Special keys do not work in Toshiba U500

Asked by Schiphol

Hello,

I've recently bought a Toshiba Satellite U500-1DV. It works very well, but I cannot get the special multimedia keys to work. Actually, the problem is more catastrophic. When, e.g., I try to get the volume down using the special key in question, it takes it down to zero, the pop up window stays there -as if it was trying to do it over and over again- and finally the keyboard stops working at all!

I'm using Linux Mint 9 -which is basically Ubuntu Lucid Lynx.

Thanks!
Manolo

Linux Mint is NOT supported here. Linux Mint has its own forum
http://forums.linuxmint.com/

If you expect support from the official forum then you MUST use an official release, many distros are based on Ubuntu and are also not supported here, They include (but are not limited to):

Backtrack
Crunchbang
Fluxbuntu
MoonOS
Ultimate

Please post on the Mint forum as that is where your support is. Not here.
